Board of Directors

David Mesa - President / Chairman

Born into a family deeply rooted in musical artistry, David Mesa has always had a passion for the arts.

Moving from New Orleans, Louisiana to Miami, Florida at the age of four, Mr. Mesa quickly became musically inclined as his parents often collaborated with fellow musicians in their family home. However, what sealed the deal for Mr. Mesa was experiencing his father playing onstage with Tito Puente and Celia Cruz on a cruise-ship in New Orleans.

In the sixth grade, Mr. Mesa began playing the cello and was later accepted into Cypress Lake High School Center for the Arts post a rigorous application and audition process. Immersed in a curriculum devoted to his artistic ability, Mr. Mesa took full advantage of the opportunity to further his dexterity. With the loss of his father during high school having altered his perspective, Mr. Mesa began working in the medical field following graduation and is currently employed as a Critical Care Technician.

Nevertheless, Mr. Mesa has always found a way back to music. In 2014, Bass Clef was established with the mission of empowering mature-aged visionary artists by encouraging their latent potential. Mr. Mesa hopes that by providing a platform where mature-aged artists, like himself, mother & father can tap into their true potential which will allow for new opportunities and heights in their careers. Making sure everyone lives their dream is Mr. Mesa’s priority.

Eli J Rodriguez - Vice President

Throughout my 25 year professional career, I have maintained the highest performance standards within a diverse range of leadership and business development functions, which is fully illustrated by my proven track record of success. As Private/Commercial Banker I not only served as a sales and service expert but as community ambassador in various not for profit organizations. I had the great opportunity to work on strategic projects including mortgage lending and training and development, for the South Florida communities.

With excellent organizational and communication skills, an outstanding work ethic, and the ability to work well in both team-oriented and self-directed environments, I am positioned to exceed your expectations. I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss my qualifications and candidacy in further detail. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Therese Drakely Smith - Secretary

Born in Nassau, The Bahamas, Therese has resided in Miami for over 35 years and is able to provide a perspective on the many communities here in South Florida to her diverse spectrum of clients. She maintains knowledge of Bahamian current events and is the perfect liaison. Therese joined EWM in January 2000. First, working in the Coral Gables office and finally, deciding to move to her current location at the Miami Beach office (which is only walking distance from her home), Therese prides herself on the fact that most of her clients are repeat customers or referrals from one of her very satisfied local, national, or international past clients.

With an obsession for details, Therese dots every 'i' and crosses every 't' as she passionately searches for the best property for her buyers or marketing opportunities for her sellers. Communication is a top priority. As a people pleaser, she bends over backwards to make sure her clients feel secure and happy with the entire process of the real estate transaction because, in the end, a real estate purchase is one of the most important purchases her clients will ever make in their lives. Therese is a member of the National Association of Realtors, Florida Association of Realtors, and the Miami Association of Realtors.

Lloyd Klein - Board Member

Lloyd Klein is a classically trained couturier whose fashion designer collections for women/men have been shown on the runway since establishing his eponymous brand in 1989, in Paris, France. His eye-catching collections of often asymmetric, but always balanced, intricately draped dresses and highly tailored couture suits, are quintessentially defined as Classicist by genre. In 1992, at the age of 25, he became Creative Director for Maison Gres/Paris. He was the perfect fit for the House founded by fashion's founder of modern Classicism, the revered grand couturier, Madame Gres. In 1999, he transitioned to the United States where his bi-coastal New York and Los Angeles presence has made him a favorite of stylists and red carpet celebrities who count on him as their go-to designer. Like Mme Gres, his offshore private couture clientele have afforded him the freedom from the demands of retail and maintained a level of exclusivity enjoyed by few world class designers.
